RIVERFRONT. If you're walking around on River Street, you need to visit this gallery which features the work of local artists. Some of the paintings are better than others, but it's fun to look at them all.#13;#10;#13;#10;

TYBEE ISLAND. Operated by the non-profit Tybee Arts Association, this gallery promotes local artists. Expect to see a lot watercolors of lighthouses, beaches and marshes.#13;#10;#13;#10;

HISTORIC DISTRICT. You already know Jack Leigh's work, maybe without realizing it. He is responsible for the photograph of the bird girl on the cover of the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." He is a nationally known artist, and a visit to his gallery to see his other work is a must. His themes are Southern, including South Carolina oystermen, Georgia shrimp fishermen, and ships that travel through the port of Savannah. Prints, books, and fine art posters are available for purchase.#13;#10;#13;#10;

Adjacent to the home of artist Linda Lindeborg, this gallery features watercolor paintings of coastal themes as well as etched glass and intaglio etchings. It's a also a convenient stop on your way to the beach.#13;#10;#13;#10;

HISTORIC DISTRICT. Also operated by the Savannah College of Art and Design, this gallery features many international artists. A recent exhibition of Christo's drawings was remarkable.#13;#10;#13;#10;#13;#10;
